Nicole Campbell

Since I first held a pencil, I have been interested in drawing. Drawing has always been a meditation and my quiet place, a refuge from the world. When I am drawing, my mind is free to dream.

My love of children's literature has had a great influence on me. Over the years, my work has evolved into a style that is dreamlike, full of fantasy and romanticism and childlike innocence. With each piece, I strive to uncover a visual story. Just like fairy tales, they are often serene...but sometimes hide a darker narrative.

My connection with animals and nature also informs and inspires my work. If you look at my pieces and see nature spirits, guardians, or familiars, chances are you're not imagining it.

My works are quiet glimpses into my imagination, and an enchanted realm of wonder and whimsy. I invite my viewers to look in.
